The Queensland Government is helping turning ideas into reality with co-investment in Queensland businesses at the forefront of commercialising ground-breaking research or innovations.

The $80 million Business Development Fund has supported more than 25 Queensland businesses, supporting more than 100 new jobs and attracting new industries to Queensland.

Targeted at emerging and high growth innovative businesses, the fund invests between $125,000 and $2.5 million as matched investment in businesses alongside private sector co-investors.

Businesses need to have the majority of their assets and employees based in Queensland, with the investment from the fund creating opportunities for new, high value and skilled employment in Queensland.

Investment decisions are made by an independent panel made up of experienced entrepreneurs.
